SENSORS

MEASUREMENT
Our sensors measure the overall power of an impact against a target in g forces. Herman doubles the g force to calculate the score.

Attaching our wireless or wired sensor immediately turns a dumb target into a smart one.

Each Herman sensor contains 2 high-impact accelerometers -- the same sensors used in cars to trigger air bags

Two accelerometers permit measuring the impact on all 3 axes.  Measuring all 3 axes allows the sensor to be attached at any angle without affecting the score.

The Herman Sensor communicates with the Herman Trainer via a cable or wirelessly

ATTACHING THE SENSOR
Use Velcro to attach the sensor
One sensor works very well on almost every target, multiple sensors are available

*For freestanding bags, place the sensor on top or 8 to 12 inches from the top of the back
*For hanging bags, put the sensor on top
*For most hand-held targets, we put the one sensor right in the middle of the back.
*For BOB, put the sensor on the back of his neck.
*For focus targets, put the sensor on top 6” from the edge.
*WIRELESS SENSORS should be secured in their case and the case should be secured to the target with Velcro.

THRESHOLD
We utilize a minimum threshold level before Herman recognizes a strike. The accelerometers measure every impact, but the threshold must be exceeded to count as a hit.

Recognizing the different types of targets and the different power levels of athletes, we've included 7 threshold level choices in the Trainer. With My Herman or Herman Graphics, you can input any threshold level.

Determine the proper threshold level through trial and error.  If good impacts aren't registering as hits, lower the threshold.  If the recoil of the target is causing a false hit, increase the threshold.  In the Herman Trainer and with Herman Graphics, we recommend starting at 8g or 10g.  My Herman is set by score (double the g force) so 15 and 20 are good starting points.

WIRELESS
Our wireless sensor units eliminate the cable and increase the portability and range.

The wireless communicate via rf signal.  With a clear line of site, the sensor can be several dozen feet from the controller.  We've recorded scores about 100 feet from the point of impact.

Wireless Herman controllers work with both wired and wireless connections

BINDING THE WIRELESS SENSOR AND TRAINER

•   POWER ON BOTH THE HERMAN TRAINER & HERMAN WIRELESS SENSOR

•    PRESS THE MENU BUTTON ON THE TRAINER UNTIL IT DISPLAYS SET UP MENU, THEN PRESS GO.  THE               TRAINER DISPLAYS SET WMRST: MODE: HIGH.

•    PRESS SELECT UNTIL IT DISPLAYS MODE: LOW
PRESS THE SET BUTTON.  THIS OPENS THE WIRELESS. SCREEN
      HERMAN DISPLAYS SETUP MENU.

•    PRESS GO, HERMAN TRAINER AGAIN DISPLAYS WMRST: MODE: HIGH,
PRESS GO. IT DISPLAYS WM_BIND, MODE: SET HIGH.
PRESS SELECT UNTIL IT SAYS MODE: TOGGLE

•    PRESS THE SYNC BUTTON ON THE SENSOR.  THE RED LIGHT GOES OUT.  WITHIN 3 SECONDS, PRESS SET ON       THE HERMAN TRAINER.  THE SENSOR LIGHT COMES BACK ON SOLID.  THIS MEANS THE SENSOR AND               TRAINER ARE COMMUNICATING.

•    YOU CAN ALSO GO THE OTHER DIRECTION AND PRESS SET THEN PRESS THE SYNC BUTTON ON THE                   SENSOR WITHIN 3 SECONDS.

•    NOW THAT THEY'RE BOUND, PRESS GO TO PROCEED THROUGH THE SETUP MENU IF YOU WANT TO                   CHANGE ANY PARAMETERS.

•    PRESS MENU TO LEAVE SETUP MENU AND GO TO RUN PROGRAM.

•    PUT WIRELESS SENSOR IN THE CASE AND ZIP IT CLOSE.  MAKE SURE THE CASE IS SECURELY ATTACHED

•    SELECT YOUR DESIRED WORKOUT IN THE TRAINER AND PRESS GO. INTERVAL LENGTH AND GRAPH WILL       BE DISPLAYED IN TRAINER SCREEN.

•    IF USING MY HERMAN, CONNECT THE TRAINER TO THE PC, LAUNCH MY HERMAN, SELECT YOUR                       WORKOUT, SELECT THE ATHLETE, AND START THE WORKOUT
