HERMAN GRAPHICS PROGRAM

Herman can connect to a pc (not Macs) with a mini-USB cable and launch the Herman Graphics program. This program was featured as part of SPARQ Training on this season's first episode of The CONTENDER on ESPN.

Herman Graphics can work independently or in sync with Herman. It color-graphically displays each strike on each axis in real time and tracks the individual and interval scores just like Herman. Athletes can see the differences between team members, their own good and bad strikes, their left and right sides, and the variations of the technique. Plus, they can store and print out their performance.

Herman Graphics can also track 2 or 3 sensors at the same time. Multiple sensors can be used on three different targets for circuit training, for team competition, or on different parts of one target for aimed techniques. Herman Graphics graphs the highest score for each impact no matter the sensor.

HERMAN GRAPHICS INSTRUCTIONS

HERMAN GRAPHICS GENERAL INFORMATION

Herman Graphics works only on pc's (not Mac's)
Works with 1 to 5 sensors.

Secondary sensors have to be specially programmed and purchased
With multiple sensors, each sensor is separately graphed and scored, and the best score from all sensors is calculated for each impact
You can input the desired time intervals in seconds.

You can input threshold levels, even using decimals. Unlike in Herman, the threshold level can be changed after the fact and new scoring will appear.

Workout intervals can only be set by time

Herman Graphics can only record and display scores when Herman is powered on

You can review saved workouts and print prior workouts without being connected to Herman

Herman can operate as simply the middle man between the sensor and Herman Graphics or you can operate Herman and Herman Graphics at the same time

The dotted line on the graph is the threshold level. Remember, the score is two times g force and the threshold level is only g force, so a 7 threshold will show as a 14 on the graph.

DOWNLOAD

Download the Herman Graphics application onto your desktop or folder.

A target icon with XSensors.exe will appear when it's ready to operate.

CONNECTIONS

Attach a mini-USB cable from a pc to your Herman.

Power on your Herman. Herman powers the sensor and communicates with it.

Attach your Herman to a sensor.

OPERATING

Click on the XSensors icon, a graph will appear.

You can adjust the size of the graph to fill your screen

Pull down from the View bar and click on the Options choice

Make sure every axis of the number 1 sensor is checked
Set the length of time you wish to workout in seconds
Set the threshold you want from 2g to 20g
Close the Options box and Save your changes

If you wish to only operate Herman Graphics, leave Herman on the title screen

If you wish to operate Herman and Herman Graphics at the same time, set up Herman to begin an interval. The Herman interval starts with the first impact. You can have the Herman interval set to Hits or Time. Herman Graphics is time only. Make sure the Herman time interval is slightly less than the Herman Graphics interval since the Graphics program starts immediately.

To start the interval, move the cursor to the red circle and click on it. If everything is properly connected and set, the sensor line with multiple colors will start immediately.

Strike the target. Herman Graphics will graph each of the sensors and the cumulative score as well as display the numeric power of the strike in large numbers.

The Herman Graphics scores are like Herman's with the number of hits, the most powerful strike, the average strike, and the total score displayed. Herman Graphics does not currently provide feedback.

If you operate a Herman program simultaneously, you can record your scores and get feedback from Herman. The Herman scores and Herman Graphics scores may differ slightly due to rounding.

If you wish to save the interval, click on the save icon and give the interval a name. We recommend naming by technique and date. The graph and scores will then be stored in your folder.

To start another interval, click on the red circle. If you didn't already save it, Herman Graphics will ask if you wish to save the prior interval. Click Yes and name it or click No. As soon as you've completed this task, the next interval begins.

To stop an interval at any time, click on the yellow square.

You can print any interval by clicking on the Print icon or pulling down the File bar and clicking on Print.

When you're through working out, simply close the application.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the graphing fails to begin, check to make sure Herman is powered on. Remember, he shuts off after two minutes of inactivity.

If the graphing still doesn't start, check the connection between Herman and the sensor.

If the graphing still doesn't start, reboot the Herman Graphics program.

If the graphing still doesn't start, unplug the USB from Herman, then plug it back in.

If the graphing still doesn't start, reboot Herman.

If all else fails, reboot your computer.

If no fix works, call us.
