Herman moves some of the most popular fitness regimens to the next level. Exercisers no longer have to be satisfied striking air. By adding a lightweight standing target with a Herman Sensor and Herman Trainer, self defense, martial arts, boxing, and kickboxing cardio routines gain a whole new dimension with timers, scores, history, and feedback. It's about getting the heart pumping with strike frequency and power consistency.
Herman permits the same workout to be completed at home and at the fitness club. As a student progresses, the more advanced programs can be downloaded from our website or by an instructor into a student's Herman. In all cases, Herman prompts the student through their group or individual training and maintains a record of that student's scores for every technique of every workout.
The Herman workout programs are based on the concept of interval training with short periods of intense exercise separated by short periods of rest. With each program level, the length of each exercise interval increases and the rest time between each decreases. BEGINNER programs include 10 second exercise intervals for 3 - 4 minute workouts, BASIC programs include 20 second intervals for 5-7 minute workouts. ADVANCED programs involve 30 second intervals for 10 - 12 minutes. EXTREME programs include 45 second exercise intervals in a 15 minute workout. And the PRO level really tests any athlete with 60 second intervals for 20 - 25 minutes.
Studies show how beneficial interval workouts are in improving an athlete's cardio-vascular health in a short amount of time. They may look easy on paper, but they're very challenging - especially as you get deep into the workout. They're a terrific way to end a class or individual training session, challenging you to gut it out and top yourself or others.
Herman and the Herman workouts are extremely flexible. The Herman workouts can stand alone for a great 10 or 15 minute workout. Or Herman can be combined with the normal Kickboxing, Tae Bo, Cardio-Kick, or Karate aerobics workout. Or Herman can be combined with the exercises and the techniques of the FIT TO DEFEND DVD for its own 30 to 45 minute workout. This last option gives you the chance to get in excellent shape and learn basic self defense in a fun atmosphere.
No matter what option a fitness club or trainer takes, Herman enhances the training experience by providing objective score keeping and feedback. Boredom becomes a thing of the past. Every workout is a competition. Every workout is a challenge. And every workout provides a fun way to train in an expedited way to get in shape.
